Since January 2009, A’Lana has been a senior manager in the MacKay LLP client services group. Prior to her current role, she was a member of MacKay LLP Kelowna’s tax group.
Before relocating to the Okanagan in 2005, A’Lana was a manager with KPMG in Prince George, BC. She began her career in public practice in 1994 and after completing her post-secondary education, she accepted a position as a controller in industry. A’Lana returned to public practice in 1999, working with KPMG’s assurance and tax teams.
A’Lana provides corporate and personal tax compliance services and has been involved in corporate re-organizations and planning strategies, as well as personal tax planning with a focus on privately held businesses.
Professional Memberships and Education
A’Lana completed her Business Administration Program in Accounting and Finance at the College of New Caledonia in 1996. She obtained her Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in 2001, and upon receiving her CMA she transferred to tax and completed the three-year Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountant (CICA) In-Depth Tax Program.
Volunteer Activities
A’Lana, who has always been actively involved in the community through the Rotary Club and is currently the Director of Youth Programs, participates in a variety of other charitable organizations. She is currently the Run Co-ordinator for the Kelowna Apple Triathlon Society and volunteers in different capacities with local fundraising campaigns.
Extra-curricular Activities
Outside of the office A’Lana spends her time enjoying many of the Okanagan’s outdoor activities such as golfing, snowboarding, running, hiking, and triathlons.
