Brian is a full-time tax practitioner and provides taxation services to privately held businesses and other organizations. His areas of expertise include corporate reorganizations and tax planning, non-resident inbound investments, and personal tax planning for commissioned sales people, real estate agents, overseas employees, and small businesses.
The nature of the work Brian performs for clients includes preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns; income tax planning, including income-splitting; tax-deferred sale of assets; purchase and sale of businesses; and assistance making scientific research and experimental development expenditure tax claims.
Brian practiced in Vancouver until he joined the MacKay LLP Kelowna office in 1992.
Professional Memberships and Education
Brian obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration (Co-operative Education Program) degree from Simon Fraser University in 1990. He received his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1991 and completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) In-Depth Tax Course in 2006. Brian regularly attends and co-presents tax courses.
Volunteer Activities
Brian is an active member of the community and has been involved in service and charitable organizations.
