As a full-time tax practitioner, Miles specializes in providing taxation services to privately held businesses. His areas of practice include corporate reorganizations, estate planning, tax planning, personal income tax, and goods and services tax.
Professional Memberships and Education
Before moving from the UK to Canada, Miles received his Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Wales College in 1989.
He obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1997 and shortly thereafter became a member of the MacKay Tax Group. He completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) In-Depth Tax course in 1999 and routinely attends or presents at other tax courses and conferences.
Volunteer Activities
Miles is currently on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) and serves as co-chair of the Junior Achievement Okanagan Regional Committee. He also teaches tax courses to other practitioners as an instructor at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia (ICABC).
Extra-curricular Activities
Outside of the office, Miles, his wife Lisa, and their four children enjoy making the most of the many sporting and recreational activities the Okanagan offers. Among their favourites are snowboarding, mountain biking, golfing, soccer, and hockey.
