Janet has extensive experience with financial operations in health and social services, housing authorities, municipal governments, and not-for-profit organizations. Her expertise lies in auditing, tax, financial reporting, policy development, and providing general business advice to small business.
Additionally, Janet has been involved in the development and delivery of training material on accounting, auditing, budgeting, and other business matters for MacKay LLP clients.
Professional Memberships and Education
Janet graduated from Queen's University in Kingston, ON, with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Volunteer Activities
Janet serves the community as treasurer of the Yellowknife Association of Community Living and a council member on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. She is also a member of the Banting Lake Backcountry Ski Project, which is a non-profit club endeavoring to encourage eco-friendly backcountry camping in the Northwest Territories.
Extra-curricular Activities
Away from the office, Janet spends most of her time experiencing the northern environment – canoeing in the summer and skiing in the winter – with her husband and two sons.
